Is there a China journey you dream of?

Between us, Yang Xiao and I have more than 10 years' experience organizing journeys across far-flung regions of China. We do it mostly because we love it even when policemen harass us and officials steal our horses (in retrospect, these are some of the best parts). Together we've tramped more than 10,000 miles along the country's byways.

In the process, we've learned a great deal about getting things done in rural China. We've created a unique network of friends all over the country, but particularly in the provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou.
